Fill out application

Once you have toured the school, our Admissions Director will send you a link to complete an Application for Admission online. A $117 non-refundable, one-time fee is required. Working parents/guardians of students enrolling in a core program (not including Extended Care) may apply for Financial Aid (left sidebar) by submitting the required supporting documentation and a $45 non-refundable fee. See Application Deadlines for 2023-2024 (left sidebar). For students applying to grades 1-8, transcripts must be submitted with the application.

03.

Parent Interview

The teacher and parent will meet to discuss classroom expectations and school policies, as well as our Community Pledge. Any questions or concerns may be addressed at this time to ensure the school is indeed a good fit for the prospective family.

Financial Aid

Alabama Waldorf School offers confidential financial aid in order to help families afford a Waldorf Education when they would not otherwise be able to. Approximately 50% of Alabama Waldorf School families apply by way of the online application.

Prospective families must first apply to an AWS program before applying for financial aid. Financial aid is only available to parents of 5-day core-program students.

For questions about financial aid, contact Finance Manager Terri Reece

04.

Classroom Observation

The child visits the prospective classroom to see what a Waldorf school day is like, and the child and teacher have the opportunity to ensure the class is a good fit.

Acceptance & Registration

Acceptance to AWS is contingent on a consensus vote by the program's Faculty Team. Upon acceptance, the Enrollment Director will contact the family, and the following will be sent via email:

1. Enrollment Forms. If your child is accepted, you will be asked to complete online registration and payment of a non-refundable Registration Fee of $170.

2. Financial Agreement. Once you have submitted the appropriate forms online, you will receive an agreement from our Finance Manager that you will sign online. This tuition agreement provides payment options, such as how you will pay, when you will pay, and is a binding contract.

Students may not begin classes until the entire financial aid process is complete and the final tuition amount is determined.

Working parents/guardians of students enrolling in a core program (not including Extended Care) may apply for Financial Aid (left sidebar) by submitting the required supporting documentation and a $45 non-refundable fee.
