AWS Grades Camps
Summer 2023
We are so excited to present our summer camp offering for grades 1-8 again at AWS! Please read descriptions below, and then complete a camper application at this link.
General camp eligibility includes all AWS students enrolled in the Grades for the 2023-2024 school year, and select camps are open to former AWS students, and siblings of current and former AWS students. Please note the age range of each camp offering as well before applying.
All camps are 8:30 am - 12:30 pm. Campers are responsible for bringing a water bottle, snack, and lunch (adherent to our food policies) to be enjoyed during the camp day.
Following our receiving your application, we will confirm with an email and payment link. Please note that your enrollment is not finalized until you receive a confirmation from AWS, and payment is fulfilled.

June 5 - June 9, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Gnome Camp with Ms. Langford
$180 investment
For rising 2nd - 8th graders, this camp will also enroll former AWS students, and current and former AWS siblings
Come celebrate magic and imagination at Gnome Camp with Handwork teacher Sarah Langford. This camp will use a variety of techniques and materials to create gnomes and woodland creatures, toadstools or abodes. Enjoy learning handwork skills on projects not covered in the standard curriculum.
June 12 - June 16, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Spa Camp with Ms. Annie
$150 investment
For rising 1st - 8th graders, this camp will also enroll former AWS students, and current and former AWS siblings
Come spend the week at spa camp, where we will have fun, relax and make ourselves simply FEEL GOOD! We will begin each day with yoga, and continue with meditative activities and spa treatments. Spa treatments will include hand, feet, face, back and head massages, scrubs and soaks, and we will make take home accessories to help you bring your calm home! Led by Annie Damsky (yoga mats and all supplies are provided, campers should bring a snack, lunch, and water bottle.)

The Care of Magical Creatures with Ms. Hoppe
$120 investment
For rising 1st - 8th graders, this camp will also enroll former AWS students, and current and former AWS siblings
*Please note this is a T - F week, there is no camp on 6/19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday*
Join Ms. Hoppe in caring for her newest little bundle of joy! We will play and sing together as we recall moments of our own early childhood alongside an infant. We will learn how to swaddle and change diapers and feed a baby. We will visit each of the preschool classes to interact with other small ones, helping with their snacks and play times. We will learn (or be reminded of) children's folk songs that appeal to the youth in everyone. Each student will receive a doll to nurture every day of camp and to take home with them at the end of the week.
June 26 - 30, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Garden Fun with Ms. Downs
$150 investment
For rising 1st - 4th graders, this camp will only enroll current AWS students
Come play in the garden for a week of magic and food and fun! Garden campers will explore and help tend the garden at its peak, when there is plenty to harvest and see. We will turn fresh produce into delicious snacks every day; experience stories, games, and nature activities; and of course, we’ll have to keep cool by playing in water! Led by Melissa Downs. All activity materials provided - campers will need lunch, a water bottle, a towel, and clothes that can get dirty and/or wet. Hats and sunscreen recommended.

July 17 - 21, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Nurture through Nature with Ms. Gadilhe
$150 investment
For rising 1st - 3rd graders, this camp will also enroll former AWS students, and current and former AWS siblings
Children will learn tools to nurture their bodies through mindful movement, exploring their creativity, and connecting with nature. Each morning will begin with free play, followed by time together focused on exploring mindfulness exercises with breath, movement, and peaceful pauses. We will connect with nature, and explore our creativity through crafts and games before ending with storytime.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no grades programing available May 29 - June 2 and July 24 – August 15. The 2023-24 school session begins on August 16.
