Waldorf science curriculum is an amazing example of experiential, project-based learning. Students set up their own demonstrations, and use of all their senses to observe a phenomenon - recording their observations, discussing and asking questions - before the phenomenon is explained to them. They also draw on their past experiences of the natural world and a keen sense of wonder, which the Waldorf method has cultivated since early childhood. This helps students to develop a sense of themselves as scientists, and to see science as an alive and constantly evolving learning opportunity. Who knows what they will discover next?
