AWS alumni win top awards at Shades Valley High School

Last week, four AWS alums were recognized for superb academic achievement at Shades Valley High School. All four alumni have ranked in the top 20 students of their respective classes. It was a special honor for them to be presented with their awards by Mayor Randall Woodfin, who himself was an alumnus of SVHS.

Top 20 for all 4 years

Thalia Hall (AWS class of 2016) was presented with the Top 20 Academic Award for being in the top 20 students of her grade level with the highest GPA for 4 years in a row. (Apparently it runs in the family — a couple of years ago, her older sister Bronwyn, AWS class of 2014, won the same award for Top 20 for all 4 years.) This past January, Thalia graduated from the Jefferson County Visual Arts Academy a semester early. Congratulations, Thalia!

Benjamin Gosdin (AWS class of 2019) was awarded the Top 20 Academic Award as a freshman in the Jefferson County Academy of Theatre.

Kylie Brown was awarded for the second year in a row for being in the top 20 of her class. Kylie, who was in Ms. Jodie Bradley's class at AWS, is currently a student at the Jefferson County Academy of Theater and Dance.

Chloe Lundberg was also awarded the Top 20 Academic Award. Chloe graduated from AWS in 2018 and is currently a sophomore at the Jefferson County Visual Arts Academy.

We're so proud of you!!
